Marco Pierre White is a household name to any food lover (or Knorr Stockcube lover!). Already comfortably installed in the Irish capital with his two restaurants; Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill on Dawson and it’s sister restaurant in Donnybrook, Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill, the English celebrity chef is eager for always on the hunt for new challenges and has now opened his new Restaurant in Belfast to much fanfare.
The Park Avenue Hotel, a four stars hotel located in East Belfast announced this 12th of October the opening of Marco Pierre White’s new Restaurant, soberly baptized Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill. Behind the furnaces, not the Maestro himself but the Head-Chef Eddie Patrick who has been trained during a few weeks to face this difficult task.
The 98-seat restaurant will propose “a selection of timeless classics“, made with “produce and meat that are locally sourced“, declared hotelier Mandy Patrick to Belfast Live. The menu sounds sublime: Roast rump of Lamb à la Dijonnaise, Gnocchi Primavera with spinach, peas, asparagus and Parmesan cream or the Confit Tuna with cherry tomato, panzanella salad, capers, croutons and fresh basil. And if you still save space, you could be tempted by the dessert menu.
Surprisingly, prices are very reasonable for a restaurant of that standard. As explained by Patrick, ”We have adjusted the prices to bring them into line with quality Belfast levels“. He added, “This adjustment will make MPW all the more attractive. On average, the prices are about £4 below the GB and Ireland equivalents“.
For Belfast’s popular restaurants such as the Deanes, the Ox or the Mourne Seafood Bar, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill will be an interesting but an audacious challenger. No doubt he’s up for the fight.
