Charlemont Place is welcoming a brand new addition to its neighbourhood, with The Charlemont Bar and Bistro, located inside the Hilton Hotel. However, it will stand alone from the hotel, offering guests and non-guests a separate bar and bistro experience.

There will also be the option of dining on an outside terrace overlooking the picturesque canal, which will be ideal when the weather begins to improve. Millimetre Design, which was involved in all aspects of the design and architecture, have used rich stained oaks, dura stone, and antique mirrors to create an extremely intimate setting.

To go with this, Executive Chef Alan Brady has created a menu whose concept is about using quality ingredients and doing them simply and well. Irish produce will play a key part in it the dishes; shellfish lovers will be able to get mussels from Kilkeel and scallops from Kilmore Quay, while beef will come from nearby Clonee. There will also be a wide variety of Irish cheese for all you cheese aficionados out there.

Dishes will include a salad of quinoa, avocado, soya bean, broccoli florets, spinach and pumpkin with citrus vinaigrette. Ideal for a healthy lunch time meal and will cost 12 euro’s. For those desiring something a bit meatier for their lunch time meal, gourmet burgers and a selection of sandwiches will be on offer too. There will be sharing platters available as well from 15 euro’s, pick from a traditional antipasto of cured meats with sun dried tomatoes and marinated olives, or a seafood platter.
