What exactly is the fate of Jon Snow? We are getting one step closer to finding out. Earlier this week HBO launched a teaser trailer for the upcoming season 6 of Game of Thrones, and unlike Kim Kardashian, it’s likely to break the internet! The sheer excitement and epic feel from 100 seconds of footage has left fans craving for more and started a painstaking countdown to its return on April the 24th. To help out, we’ve compiled a list of the essential Game of Thrones food and drinks to ensure you make it to April 24th in one piece!
You have no doubt craved a few dishes from The Inn at the Crossroads, what you may not be aware of is that there is an official Game of Thrones food blog as well as a companion cookbook called “A Feast of Ice and Fire” with the recipes approved by George R. R. Martin himself. Fancy making a lemon cake that Sansa Stark would approve of, some tasty pork pies that Samwell Tarly would scoff down, a warm Sisters Stew for this freezing weather, or even Tyroshi honeyfingers, then this cookbook is a must buy!
If you’re no chef, don’t worry. Ommegang Brewery in New York has collaborated with HBO to brew 5 amazing Game of Throne beers. Choose from “Iron Throne” a blonde ale, “Take the black stout”, “Fire and Blood” a red ale, “Valar Morghulis” a classic Belgian dubbel, or the rather intriguing “Three-Eyed Raven” a 7.2% dark saison. All the beers come in 750ml size bottles, are corked, look stunning, and make the perfect collector’s item for Game of Thrones fans. Although, they are no doubt extremely tough to get your hands on.
Fancy something a bit stronger, take a page out of Tyrion Lannister’s book and choose from our wine recommendations. Remember, everything is better with some wine in the belly! A great wine deserves to be drunk in a great glass, these Dragonclaw goblets are perfect for that! You don’t want any glass stains on your table, these wax seal coasters will ensure that never happens
For that special Game of Thrones fan in your life, we recommend celebrating the launch of the new season with a specially made Game of Thrones cake. Mannings Bakery are cake maestro’s and would Surely be up for a challenge. An Iron Throne cake or a Khal Drago one with some eggs would be pretty amazing!
Whatever the fate of Jon Snow, celebrate his life with some tasty Game of Thrones cake and beer!
