To celebrate the 100th birthday of Roald Dahl, Platform 61 will be hosting a brunch in honour of the Welsh born author, in the intimate surroundings of one of Dublin’s best kept secrets.

Saturday 5th of November will see the South William street restaurant mark the famed author’s birthday with a brunch inspired by some of his most celebrated works. Many of Dahls publications, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG featured unusual and eccentric fare, but thankfully Platform 61’s approach is a lot more appetising than the BFG’s favourite Snozzcumber and Frobscottle.

Cupcake created by The Cup Cake Bloke

Aungier Danger and The Cupcake Bloke will be providing sweet treats that would leave even Willy Wonka gobsmacked, including the Despicable Lickable Wallpaper Doughnut and the Human Bean Doughnut…far more tempting then the goose-liver variety that Fantastic Mr Fox was so fond off.

Selling in excess of 250 million books, Dahl was a memorable part of many of our lives as we grew up, and he continues to delight millions of children today. For the bigger kids among us, a selection of delicious cocktails will also be on offer to wash down all those edible goodies.

Tickets are available from €20 and include a savoury brunch, doughnut or cupcake plus a cocktail of your choice. See for further details.
