In honour of St Patrick’s Day, The Exchequer D2 have created a cocktail which could be just what the doctor ordered to chase away that “morning after the night before” feeling!

We’ve heard of the “Irish Goodbye”: slipping out of the pub without saying goodbye to your friends, after overindulgence in your favourite tipple. “Irish Yoga” is also a recognised “thing”, where imbibing one too many results in one falling asleep in positions that a practised contortionist would find challenging. Both phenomena generally result in one thing: varying levels of pain!

exchequerexchequer1Luckily, the award-winning team of mixologists at The Exchequer D2 have carefully crafted a mouth-watering, whiskey based cocktail to fight “the fear”. Irish Penicillin includes Teeling small batch and Connemara peated single malt whiskey for a delectable combination. Infused with ginger and honey syrup to compliment the rich whiskey, and topped off with fresh lemon juice and a drizzle of golden Irish honey, the cocktail is garnished with apple (to keep the doctor away), and a patriotic tricolour making for the perfect remedy this March.

While we can’t guarantee that Irish Penicillin will have the same effect as its medicinal namesake, The Exchequer, named Best Cocktail Experience in Ireland at the Restaurant Association of Ireland Awards, 2016 can guarantee an evening of sublime cocktails, quality food and first rate service.
