Ireland’s first ever ‘cat lounge’ is set to open in Smithfield later on today. The idea, which originated in Japan and is now catching on around the globe. The Dublin establishment is giving cat lovers the opportunity to book a 90-minute session where they can play and interact with lots of adorable kittens and cats.

This sounds like the perfect way to de-stress after a hard day! It’s also perfect for anyone who can’t keep cats in their home due to allergies or regulations put in place by their landlords.

There are ten rescue cats in total and there’s a coffee machine so that you can enjoy a hot beverage while you cuddle them. The kittens, pictured below, were originally brought to a vet to be euthanised (I’m not crying, you’re crying!) Well we sure are glad that Georgina O’Neill, the woman behind the concept was there to rescue the furry little critters.

If you want to sit back and enjoy the company of some feline friends then you can book online for just €15.
